This is a key, hands-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring systems, infrastructure, and security are robust, compliant, and aligned with strategic business objectives.</p> <p>The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of IT operations, manage a small team, and play a central role in driving efficiencies, supporting colleagues, and implementing secure, future-focused technology solutions.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to take ownership of a critical function, shape IT strategy, deliver meaningful improvements, and make a tangible impact across the organisation.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>The IT Operations Manager will:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily operations of the firm's network and hybrid server infrastructure</li><li>Ensure IT systems meet current and future business requirements</li><li>Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and cost-efficiency across the function</li><li>Lead IT risk management, disaster recovery, and backup processes</li><li>Implement and maintain network, data, and communications security</li><li>Maintain <strong>Cyber Essentials Plus (CE&#43;)</strong> accreditation</li><li>Provide second and third-line support across hardware, OS, software, telephony, and printing</li><li>Manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments</li><li>Oversee reporting and data insights (including audit logs, SQL, Excel, and Power BI)</li><li>Maintain and enhance the firm's Practice Management System (PMS), including workflows, forms, and documentation</li><li>Manage telephony systems (3CX) and mobile communication platforms</li><li>Lead, mentor, and support two members of the IT team</li><li>Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and procurement planning</li><li>Develop and maintain hardware lifecycle planning (3-5 years)</li><li>Deliver and manage internal IT-related training (including PMS, AML, and cyber security)</li><li>Review, update, and enforce IT policies in line with legal and regulatory requirements</li><li>Maintain accurate hardware, software, and licensing audits</li><li>Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support business objectives</li></ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background combined with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. They will be confident operating both strategically and operationally, with the ability to drive improvements while ensuring day-to-day stability.</p> <p>Experience within a legal or professional services environment would be highly beneficial. Familiarity with the <strong>Partner for Windows (P4W)</strong> case management system is advantageous.</p> <p>Candidates must also have demonstrable experience in managing <strong>Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE&#43;) audits</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Experience Required</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Server ()</li><li>Microsoft environments: Azure (including AVD), Intune, Entra, Microsoft 365</li><li>Case management systems (ideally P4W)</li><li>LAN/WAN infrastructure knowledge</li><li>SQL database management</li><li>Hosted telephony systems</li><li>Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus</li><li>Managing third-party suppliers and contracts</li><li>IT service management (ITSM)</li><li>Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practice</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Power BI</li><li>Email signature management tools (eg Exclaimer)</li><li>Advanced Excel and SQL (queries and formulas)</li><li>Digital dictation systems</li><li>Electronic forms development</li><li>AML systems (eg XAML)</li><li>Network monitoring tools (eg PRTG)</li><li>Netwrix Auditor</li><li>Ivanti Device &amp; Application Control</li><li>AI and automation platforms, including Microsoft Copilot</li></ul> <p><br /></p>
